Lesson 5: Getting up.  If you have made space you can now consider getting to your feet. If you have been struck, you will probably be dizzy, slightly light headed so we use a stable method of getting to our feet.

Coaching Points

  • Do not attempt to get up if the attacker is to close 0 use combatives and make space first
  • Consider getting up to the rear sprint – rather than facing than attacker head on
  • Protect your head at all times, if the attacker advances before you can get up, return to the ground conflict position
