‘It’s unlike any other course I have undertaken in the civilian world. It is far more like that experienced in the military and anyone wanting to attend should prepare themselves appropriately.

The form of physical and mental robustness was perhaps more than I expected, but made for a superb end to the course and the feeling of really earning one’s place in the organisation.”

Sean Lerwill - Author Mens HealthPTI Royal Marines. Fitness Authorhttps://britishkravmagaassociation.co.uk/portfolio-item/british-krav-maga-review-sean-lerwill/–Course Review

‘Quality was very high, we dealt with very few scenarios I hadn’t dealt with before, however Pauls knowledge on the simplest and most effective techniques coupled with his specific reasoning for selecting that technique was very impressive.

I would highly recommend BKMA instructor training to aspiring Krav instructor no matter how good or experienced you think you are I can guarantee you will learn something new.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the course aimed at:
The British Krav Maga Instructor certification is aimed at experienced combat sports practitioners or Instructors who want a credible teaching certification. Whether you want to teach recreationally or professionally, the standards required of a good instructor are universal so we cater for both levels of expectation.

Is the course suitable for beginners:
No.

Candidates are required to have a good level of stand up striking skills before starting the course. We recommend at least 4 years consistent training (3x a week) in boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, OR MMA.

Do you recognise training with other Krav Maga Organisations

Yes. We recognise Krav Maga training under any credible organisation (FEKM, IKMA, IKMF, KMG) and will accept training candidates who have graded to level/practitioner 3 or equivalent. We will not generally accept 3/5 day Instructor courses due to the credibility issues with these courses.

What level of fitness is required to attend:
The Krav Maga Instructor course combines teaching, training and theory blocks over a full day. Trainees need to be training regularly and at a reasonable level of fitness to participate.

Age and Injury:
A reasonable allowance will be made for age and injury. Candidates will be expected to train at a moderate pace for extended periods with intervals of high-intensity training. Older applicants are most welcome.

Is it real Krav Maga:
Our lineage goes back via Eyal Yanilov and Amnon Darsa to Imi Sde Or, the founder of Krav Maga. We originally certified under the 2 largest Krav Maga organisations in the world, Krav Maga Worldwide and the IKMF before going on to found British Krav Maga in 2010. We maintain links with Israel an have regular guest Instructors to the UK.

Progression

British Krav Maga delivers a well established programme of continued professional development. Basic training is followed by numerous 3 day blocks of continued training to allow for continued development within Krav Maga. See Progression.

Licensed or Unlicensed Instructor
British Krav Maga provides one of the most credible commercial programmes in Europe.

Licensed Instructors recieve a full school launchpad programme, professionally built marketing resources, payment collection and mentoring  and Business Bootcamp – an intensive weekend of marketing and business training for Krav Maga Instructors.

British Krav Maga has the most detailed and comprehensive post certification training of any organisation in the UK or abroad.

Unlicensed Instructors attend basic training going on to work independently.

‘The Course is extremely professional we received outstanding instruction and support throughout. The course is physically demanding and challenging, but incredibly rewarding.

I would, without hesitation, wholly recommend Paul Grey and British Krav Maga for service leavers or those wishing to teach Krav Maga as part of their transition into civilian life.’
